'Antigone' has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Jury of Television Films at the 42nd Hungarian Film Week.
The film is a visually modern, very puritanical rendition of the classical text about power and spirituality. It concentrates on the complex psychology of the ancient text and expounds its connections to our contemporary life. ANTIGONE is modern theatre and symbolical abstract art in one, yet it is a film in the best sense of the term. Almost exclusively semi close-ups, no movements, no camera movements, symbolic, meaningful gestures and mesmerisingly credible acting in front of the abstract backgrounds created out of thousands of photographic images taken on the different visual manifestations of the four ancient elements: water, air, earth and fire. And no one wears any clothing, they all appear as created. Naked puppets in the hands of God!
The film made by bluescreen technology, we created the backgrounds with Photoshop from many different surfaces and structures, and used After Effects for keying.
